Assistant Quality Manager
West Cork Recruitment are hiring an Assistant Quality Manager on behalf of a well-known food production company based in West Cork. This is a full-time permanent position.
• Full responsibility for managing the quality team and quality operations in the
absence of the Quality Manager due to holiday, illness, or business demands.
• Support or lead and run internal, third-party, and regulatory audits independently if
the Quality Manager is unavailable, ensuring the plant is audit-ready at all times.
• Assist in the administration, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality
• Manual, Quality System, and Food Safety Management/HACCP System.
• Support compliance with FSAI guidelines, food safety legislation, and existing
industry quality standards.
• Liaise with suppliers and customers on food quality, documentation, specifications,
and the efficient resolution of queries or complaints.
• Direct responsibility for food safety, integrity, legality, and quality on the production
floor; implementing, monitoring, and reviewing corrective actions.
• Assist in supervising daily tasks of quality staff, coordinating production record
reviews, and maintaining calibration registers for plant and laboratory equipment.
• Support the implementation of site policies and employee training programmes.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report quality standards and procedural issues to the Quality
• Manager and wider management team.
• Keep abreast of the latest scientific literature and food safety legislation to suggest
process improvements.
• All other job-related tasks as requested by Management.
