West Cork Recruitment are delighted to be working with a leading food production company based in Bantry, recruiting for an Inventory Controller.
The Inventory Controller is responsible for managing and maintaining the company inventory levels
to ensure that there is enough stock to meet customer demand without overstocking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain Accurate Inventory Records: Keep detailed records of inventory levels, orders,
deliveries, and returns.
- Coordinate with Departments: Work closely with warehouse, purchasing, and sales teams to
manage inventory levels.
- Perform Inventory Audits: Conduct regular physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Implement Inventory Control Procedures: Develop and implement best practices for inventory
control.
- Forecast Supply Needs: Predict future inventory needs based on trends and demand patterns.
- Manage Damaged Inventory: Process and document damaged inventory and coordinate repairs
or disposal.
- Resolve Discrepancies: Identify and resolve discrepancies between inventory records and
physical counts.
- Optimize Logistics: Work with logistics and supply chain professionals to optimize inbound
and outbound inventory logistics.
- Use Inventory Management Software: Utilize software to track inventory movements company
wide.
Education:
- Qualification in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a
related field.
Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in inventory management, warehousing, logistics, or a
related field.
Skills:
o Proficiency with inventory management software (e.g ERP systems level).
o Proficiency in MS Excel & office
o Strong organizational and analytical skills.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Good understanding of inventory management practices such as ABC analysis and
cycle counting.
