Overview
West Cork Recruitment are currently hiring an experienced Operations Manager on behalf of a well-established engineering company based in East Cork. This is a senior role responsible for overseeing project delivery, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring operational efficiency across all stages of engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate all staff to ensure the successful and timely delivery of projects
• Lead stakeholder management, maintaining regular communication with clients throughout the full project lifecycle
• Monitor project timelines and proactively manage any delays or schedule changes with clients
• Oversee project progression across all stages: Design → Electrical Design → Procurement → Machining → Assembly → FAT → Installation
• Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) processes and ensure all associated documentation is completed
• Ensure timely delivery of machine drawings to support project schedules
• Liaise with the machine shop to prioritise workloads and meet agreed delivery deadlines
• Work closely with senior management on pipeline activity, including sales, quotations, delivery schedules, SLAs, and service planning
• Manage CE certification processes and ensure all compliance documentation is in place
• Provide weekly updates on project status, milestones, and delivery progress
• Coordinate with administration to trigger stage payments and ensure timely invoicing
• Schedule and manage the service team to optimise performance and responsiveness
• Oversee quotations and site visits, ensuring all work carried out is accurately recorded and invoiced
Requirements
• Proven experience in an Operations Manager or similar role within engineering, MFG or automation
• Strong project management and organisational skills
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex project lifecycles
• Excellent stakeholder and client communication skills
• Strong understanding of engineering project workflows and documentation
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
